BREAKING: UAE Lifts Visa Ban On Nigerian Travellers As Tinubu Secures Historic Deal

Nigeria’s President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and President of the  United Arab Emirates (UAE) , Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on Monday, in Abu Dhabi, finalised a historic agreement, which has resulted in the immediate cessation of the visa ban placed on Nigerian travelers to the Arab country. Furthermore, by this historic agreement, both Etihad Airlines and Emirates Airlines are to immediately resume flight schedules into and out of Nigeria, without any further delay. As negotiated between the two Heads of State, this immediate restoration of flight activity, through the two airlines and between the two countries, does not involve any immediate payment by the Nigerian government. This is as Etihad and Emirates Airlines are to resume flight operations to Nigeria with immediate effect. Abiodun mourns Akintola Williams, says his demise marks the end of an era

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has described the passing of Nigeria's pioneered Chartered Accountant, Akintola Williams, as the end of an era. Akintola was reported to have died on Monday at his residence in Lagos at the age of 104. The governor, in a statement he personally signed, eulogized the immeasurable contributions of the late Accountant to the field of Accountancy, saying his impacts in the profession will continue to be remembered and celebrated among generations of Accountants in years to come. DATKEM Plaza Is An Illegal Structure, Contravenes Ogun Physical Planning Laws

Ogun State Government on Sunday said DATKEM Plaza, Ijebu Ode is an illegal structure without an approved plan. The structure, the state government added, also contravened the state’s physical planning laws. The government, in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Engr. Olayiwola Abiodun said the structure violated the building codes of the state with numerous defects. He said several efforts made by the state government to halt further development on site were ignored by the developers.   He said government officials requested the structural engineer in charge of the building to avail the state of the structural equilibrium of the building, a request that was ignored. Gov. Akeredolu’s wife confirms husband’s return to Nigeria

Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, the wife of Gov. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, on Thursday disclosed that her husband has returned to Nigeria. Anyanwu-Akeredolu, in a message on her Facebook page, posted a picture of Akeredolu in a private jet on Thursday with the caption “homebound.” The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that this has come after about three months of a medical leave in Germany. Akeredolu had begun the medical leave in June and it was extended indefinitely by the state House of Assembly in July. He thereafter transferred power to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, in line with constitutional provisions. According to a source who did not want his name mentioned, the governor is in Nigeria and would be formally received in Ibadan by members of the Ondo State Executive Council. ”Our boss is back and we are happy.
