By: Tope OYEKAN The remains of the late Honourable Solomon Olusanya ODUBONA, a former member of the Ogun State House of Assembly representing Ikenne State Constituency, and former Minority Leader of the house will be laid to rest on Friday, 23rd August, 2024. This was contained in a funeral arrangements released by the family and signed by the eldest son of the deceased, Aare Olajide Anthony ODUBONA. According to the funeral plans, the late lawmaker and the former Agbaakin of Iperu, and the Otun Balogun of Idena, would be interred at his residence, Mogunsen Court, Sewolu Quarters, Iperu Remo, after a burial/thanksgiving service that will be held at the St. James' Anglican Church, Sewolu Street, Iperu Remo, while guests will be entertained at the Christ Apostolic Grammar School Hall, Iperu Remo. Ogun Joins Rice-Producing States as Abiodun Flags Off Harvest of 200-Hectare Plantation

Ogun State has joined the league of rice-producing states in the country with the flagging off of the harvest of 200 hectares of farmland at Magboro Rice Farm in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of the state. The farm is the brainchild of the Ogun State Economic Transformation Project, supported by the World Bank  and aimed at driving economic growth and development in the state. Speaking on the occasion, Governor Abiodun said that with the flag-off, Ogun State is not only joining states like Lagos, Kebbi, and Bayelsa in producing locally grown rice for the consumption of the people, but also fostering economic development, creating jobs, and improving livelihoods within the communities. The Iperu Mini Stadium Project Committee has appointed Chairmen of Sub-committees. Those appointed are Otunba Owolabi OGUNJIMI who heads the Building Sub-committee, and Mr. Afolabi SOYEGE, who shall oversee the affairs of the Fund-raising Sub-committee. Their appointment was contained in a statement issued by Muhy'dn OYEFUSI, the Personal Assistant to Otunba Denny Ibrahim  OLADIPUPO, Chairman of the Iperu Mini Stadium Project Committee, shortly after an inaugural meeting of volunteers held last weekend.
