The Alaperu of Iperu Remo, Ogun State, Nigeria, His Royal Highness, Oba Adeleke Adelekan IDOWU-BASIBO (Odoru V), FIEX, FICMC, has commended the 2024 Ojude Oba Iperu Planning committee for its effort at organizing a successful Ojude Oba festival in the town last tuesday. Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State on Monday emerged as the Chairman of Southern Governors' Forum by consensus among the sixteen Governors present at the meeting held in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital. It would be recalled that the late Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State led the forum until his demise in 2023. Announcing the resolution of the Southern State Executives after the meeting, the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwoolu, said the decision of the forum was unanimous and in line with their conviction on the leadership acumen of Abiodun to successfully lead the forum. In his reaction, Governor Dapo Abiodun expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in him to take the mantle of leadership of the forum, as he promised to lead with inclusiveness and efficiency. Tope OYEKAN Iperu Remo, a prominent town in Ikenne Local Government area of Ogun State, Nigeria  is presently agog as the community celebrates the 2024 Ojude Oba festival tomorrow. Indigenes and residents of the town are already in a celebration mood as preparations are already at an advanced stage towards hosting a remarkable and memorable event. The event which is divided into three sessions, shall be held at the Alaperu Palace, and Oja Ale Square, Iperu. The forum which has the Ebi of Idena, His Royal Highness, Oba Lukman Oluwadamilare  Adebambo SALAMI (Sebu II), as Chairman, is a response by all the royal fathers in Iperu to the incessant security challenges confronting the town including cases of kidnapping, murder, theft, armed robberies, and burglaries. At the inauguration, members of the newly-constituted security outfit were unveiled by the royal father with the charge to ensure the safety and security of lives and properties in Iperu Remo and its environs, through active and effective collaboration with existing security agencies such as the Police, Amotekun, and So-safe Corps.
