PDP Faces Growing Post-Primary Discontent in Ikenne as Internal Crisis Deepens

Image
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ikenne Local Government may be approaching one of its most challenging moments in recent political history as discontent stemming from the party's recent primary elections continues to fuel uncertainty over its future in the area. What began as dissatisfaction over the conduct of the primaries has gradually evolved into a broader conversation about the party's internal cohesion, with some members alleging that the exercise was marred by bias, unfairness and the imposition of preferred candidates across parts of Remo Federal Constituency. Although the party leadership has yet to publicly address many of the grievances raised by aggrieved members, the lingering tension has sparked speculation over whether reconciliation efforts will be enough to keep the party united ahead of future elections. Several party members who spoke on condition of anonymity claimed the outcome of the primaries left many loyalists feeling sidelined and di...

RE: CLARIFICATION ON MISREPRESENTED COMMENTS ATTRIBUTED TO ALH. DR. RASAK OLUSOLA SOTAYO (SOLEBO)

Image
Our attention has been drawn to a misleading social media publication falsely alleging that Alh. Dr. Rasak Olusola Sotayo (Solebo), Chairman of ROMO threatened a party member during a political gathering. We wish to clearly state that the allegation is false, misleading, and a deliberate misinterpretation of his comments. Alh. Dr. Sotayo’s statement was only directed at addressing the conduct of a Ward Secretary whose actions have consistently lacked support for the collective struggle and preparations leading to the primary election. His remarks were organizational and disciplinary in nature and never intended as a threat to any individual. It is unfortunate that certain individuals are attempting to twist the narrative for political propaganda and to create unnecessary tension within the party. Alh. Dr. Rasak Olusola Sotayo remains a committed advocate of peace, party unity, and democratic engagement. We therefore urge the public and party members to disregard the false p...

Ogun Govt has no reason to block Senator Daniel's Projects, he should follow due process--Govt

Image
The Ogun State Government has dismissed claims that it is deliberately frustrating road projects initiated by Senator Gbenga Daniel, a former governor of the state, noting that it seeks coordination, not obstruction, of development projects. The government gave this indication through the Special Adviser on Media and Strategy to Governor Dapo Abiodun, Hon. Kayode Akinmade. According to Akinmade, who spoke on Frontline, a current affairs program on Eagle 102.5 FM, Ijebu-Ilese, lawmakers from Ogun State routinely inform the government about their constituency projects to aid planning and budgeting, but Daniel chose not to follow due process. While appealing to the senator to develop a close relationship with the relevant ministry, he said: "If a project the state is contemplating is already captured in the federal budget, the state government will now use the resources made for that one for another road. But in a situation where there is no communication, that's the ...
