Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State on Monday emerged as the Chairman of Southern Governors' Forum by consensus among the sixteen Governors present at the meeting held in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital. It would be recalled that the late Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State led the forum until his demise in 2023. Announcing the resolution of the Southern State Executives after the meeting, the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwoolu, said the decision of the forum was unanimous and in line with their conviction on the leadership acumen of Abiodun to successfully lead the forum. The forum which has the Ebi of Idena, His Royal Highness, Oba Lukman Oluwadamilare  Adebambo SALAMI (Sebu II), as Chairman, is a response by all the royal fathers in Iperu to the incessant security challenges confronting the town including cases of kidnapping, murder, theft, armed robberies, and burglaries. Sagamu Youth Association Executive Council Dissolved, Transition/ Constitution Review Committee Appointed

It is pertinent to place on record that Sagamu Youth Association is a structural organization with different working organs. One of these organs is the Board of Trustee ( BoT ), which is the conscience of the organization. However, we the members of the BoT hereby congratulate all the members of the executive council led by Comr. Sikiru Segun (Success), for the successful completion of their administration which started in March 2021. In the same vein, we sincerely appreciate them for their selfless service to the community. They have consolidated on the gains and achievements of the previous administrations.  In the course of discharging their duties, they never engaged in any act capable of bringing disrepute to the image of the Association. (Mrs.) Olanike Olawunmi OGUNBONA, FNSE, the former Head of Local Government Administration, Ikenne Local Government, as the Permanent Secretary of the Ogun State Local Government Service Commission. The new permanent secretary was appointed by Gov. ABIODUN on 8th April 2024, alongside the duo of Mr. Augustine Adekunle OYESANWEN, a former Director of Agricultural Planning, Grade Level 17; and Mrs. Arinola Nusirat ADETAYO, who was a Deputy Director, Accounts, Grade Level 16. The event with the theme, "Protecting the Nigerian Child from the dangers of Online Technology" will be held at the Guaranty Trust Bank, Obafemi Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, on Monday, 27th May, 2024, and shall have as Speaker, a member of the board, Prince Gboyega AKINYEMI. The excursion programme is organized by the board as part of its efforts at providing practical learning experience and exposure to the students which are integral to their academic and personal development. OTUNBA TAIWO OYEBANJO ELECTED AS PRESIDENT OF IPERU DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION

By: Tope OYEKAN Otunba Taiwo Abdulrasaq OYEBANJO, CEO, Avalon Hotel and Suites, Iperu, has been elected the President, Iperu Development Association, in the election of the association, held on Saturday 25th May, 2024.  He was declared elected unopposed by the Chairman, Iperu Development Association Electoral Committee, Mr. Sakiru SODIPO, at the Iperu Development Association Plaza, Atenda, Iperu, venue of the exercise, yesterday. The newly-elected President, who is the current Vice Chairman of the association will succeed the incumbent and outgoing Chairman, Chief Babajide OYETI. OYEBANJO, an Auditor in the then Iperu Community Development Association; served as Vice Chairman of Akesan Day Celebrations Planning Committee; and also served as Chairman of the Akesan Day Celebrations Planning Committee in the years 2016 and 2017.
