In recent times, Ijebu Igbo has been plagued by an alarming rise in misconduct by TRACE (Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps) officers. Reports have surfaced detailing how these officers, who are meant to uphold traffic laws and ensure the safety of the public, have instead turned into predators, exploiting their positions for personal gain. Their collusion with area thugs to extort money from commercial motorcycle riders, commonly known as “okada riders,” is particularly concerning. Numerous eyewitness accounts and victim testimonies reveal a pattern of systemic abuse. The Federal Government has approved January, 2025, as the official date for the 22nd edition of the National Sports Festival, tagged, “Gateway Games, Ogun 2024”. Speaking at a meeting held with the candidates at the Iperu Development Association secretariat on Tuesday, 21st May, 2024, the Chairman of the electoral committee, Mr. Sakiru SODIPO, charged the contestants to see the election as a call to service. Ogun State Government on Wednesday commenced the disbursement of the second phase of the N1billion Operational Grant for Micro and Small scale Enterprises in the state under its OG-cares scheme.  The first disbursement was done in 2023, during which 1,000 entrepreneurs in micro enterprises received N100,000 each, while those in the small scale categories received N350,000 each.  About 2,822 entrepreneurs are expected to benefit from the second phase.
