BLESSED BOMODE OKU SOCIETY, IPERU CELEBRATES 60TH ANNIVERSARY, COMMISSIONS SECRETARIAT/MULTIPURPOSE HALL

By: Temitope OYEKAN The Blessed Bomode Oku Society, Iperu Remo, Ogun State, a foremost socio-cultural age-grade group,  will celebrate its 60 years of existence on  Saturday, 31st May, 2025. The event will  feature the commissioning of the BBOS Secretariat/Multipurpose Hall, a project initiated by the group fourteen years ago. It will also feature installation of chiefs and presentation of awards of honour to deserving members.  Venue of the event which holds between 11am and 7pm is the BBOS Secretariat/Multipurpose Hall, besides Foursquare Gospel Church, Imale, off Ilisan Road, Iperu Remo. Temitope OYEKAN, a retired Deputy Director of Information in the Ogun State Local Government Service, and the immediate-past Head of Department, Information, Education and Sports, Ikenne Local Government, has commiserated with Yeye Adenike Adebutu, on the passing of her loving mum, Alhaja Mujidat Abeke OGUNNAIKE, the revered Iyalode Akarigbo, who departed this life on Sunday, 11th May, 2025, at the age of 76. Abeokuta South LG Stops Helmet, Side Mirror, Others Fines, Terminates Contract of Necad Nerrow Management

Abeokuta South - The Legislative Council of Abeokuta South Local Government has announced the termination of its contract with Necad Nerrow Nigeria Limited, the management firm responsible for collecting Internal Generated Revenue (IGR) from commercial motorcyclists.  This decision follows allegations of extortion levelled against the company. The Council had earlier suspended the collection of fines related to helmets, carrying more than one passenger, side mirrors on Monday and summoned key stakeholders, including representatives from the Amalgamated Commercial Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN), the Association of Motorcycles owners and Riders of Nigeria (AMORAN), Riders and Owners of Motorcycles Organisation (ROMO), the Arewa Motorcycles Riders Association, and Mr. Nurudeen Olayinka Adenuga of Necad Nerrow Nigeria Limited. Breaking: Abeokuta South Legislative Council Suspends Helmet, Side Mirror Fines, Summons Necad Nerrow Management

May 5, 2025 | Abeokuta, Ogun State   The Abeokuta South Local Government Legislative Council has directed Necad Nerrow Nigeria Limited to immediately halt the collection of fines on helmets and side mirrors from commercial motorcycle operators within the council area.   The resolution, tagged House Resolution No. 7, was passed during the council’s sitting on Monday, May 5, 2025, following tensions between Necad Nerrow’s management and the Arewa faction of Okada riders.   Key Directives:   1. Suspension of Fines:  The enforcement of penalties for helmet and side mirror violations has been put on hold until further notice.   2.
