It is with another heavy that I received the news of the passing of the esteemed Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Sikiru Kayode ADETONA (Ogbagba II).

I offer my sincerest condolences to the ADETONA family, particularly to Olori Oluwakemi ADETONA and Princess Adetoun ADETONA on this immeasurable loss.
May they find comfort in the memories they shared; and strength during this difficult time.

The passing of Oba ADETONA is a significant loss not only to his family but to the entire Ijebu Ode community, Ijebuland, and indeed, Ogun State.
His leadership, wisdom, and contributions to the cultural heritage of Ijebuland, as well as his legacy and impact on the community will be deeply missed.

I extend my deepest sympathy to the Anikilaiya Ruling House, the government and the good people of Ijebu Ode, the entire Ijebuland, the Ijebu Traditional Council, and the Ogun State Council of Obas.

I also wish to convey my condolences to my dear brother, His Excellency, Prince Dapo ABIODUN, MFR, the Governor of Ogun State, and the entire government and the good people of Ogun State on the departure of the highly-reverred royal father who is a father-figure to many.

May the soul of the late monarch rest in perfect peace, and may the ADETONA family find solace in cherished memories of his life and legacy.
