Tinubu’s Reforms Key to Making Nigeria Among World’s Best — Kashamu

The lawmaker representing Ijebu North State Constituency I in the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Rasheed Kashamu, has expressed strong support for the reform policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging Nigerians to remain patient and supportive as the country undergoes critical economic and structural changes.

Kashamu spoke during an interview granted at his residence in Ijebu Igbo as part of activities marking the recent Eid-el-Fitr celebrations, where thousands of residents and well-wishers thronged his home.

The gathering, which has become a yearly tradition, saw the distribution of food items and cash gifts to attendees, particularly the less privileged, in what the lawmaker described as his personal contribution to easing the burden of the festive season.

Speaking on the significance of the gesture, Kashamu said it was his way of giving back to society and supporting the downtrodden, especially during periods of celebration.

“This is something I have been doing for years. It is my own little way of reaching out to the people and ensuring that they also have reasons to celebrate,” he said.

He added that the initiative is deeply rooted in family tradition, tracing it to the legacy of his late father, Senator Buruji Kashamu, who represented Ogun East Senatorial District between 2015 and 2019.

According to him, sustaining such humanitarian efforts remains a personal commitment, as he pledged to continue the annual outreach in honour of his father’s enduring impact on the people.

Amid the celebrations, the lawmaker also used the opportunity to speak on national issues, throwing his weight behind the reform agenda of President Tinubu.

He described the President’s policies as bold, necessary, and long overdue, noting that they are aimed at repositioning Nigeria for long-term stability and prosperity.

Kashamu acknowledged that while the reforms may pose temporary challenges, their long-term benefits would significantly transform the nation’s economic landscape.

“The reforms being undertaken are not without their challenges, but they are steps in the right direction. What the President is doing is laying a solid foundation for a better Nigeria,” he stated.

He commended Tinubu for demonstrating courage and political will in implementing critical decisions that previous administrations had avoided, stressing that such leadership is essential for meaningful national development.

The lawmaker further called on Nigerians across all sectors to support the administration’s efforts, emphasizing that national progress requires collective sacrifice and unity of purpose.

“If these policies are maintained and Nigerians continue to support the government, there is no doubt that our country will rise to become one of the best in the world,” Kashamu added.

He also urged political leaders and stakeholders to align with the vision of the current administration, noting that nation-building is a shared responsibility that transcends partisan interests.
