Workers' Day: AMORAN Chairman, Otunba Danku, Commends Governor Abiodun's Support, Good Works for Ogun Riders

The Chairman of the Articulate Motorcycle Owners & Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN), Ogun State Chapter, Otunba Taofeek Sokoya, popularly known as Danku, has commended Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun for his unwavering support and belief in the union, describing the governor as a true friend of the commercial motorcycling community.
In a Workers' Day message delivered in Abeokuta, the state capital, Otunba Sokoya specifically thanked the governor for creating an enabling environment for riders to operate, and for recognising them as vital contributors to the state's economy.
"Today, on behalf of every articulate rider in Ogun State, we thank our Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for the support and belief in us. His administration's good works have not gone unnoticed by our members, and we remain loyal partners in the progress of Ogun State," the chairman stated.
The union leader described commercial motorcyclists as the arteries through which commerce flows, noting that from the earliest hours of the morning until late at night, riders brave the sun, the rain, and unpredictable roads to move people to their workplaces, deliver goods, and connect communities.

He urged members to reciprocate the government's goodwill by maintaining strict adherence to road traffic regulations, ensuring vehicle roadworthiness, and upholding customer courtesy at all times.

"A professional rider is a safe rider, and a safe rider is an asset to society. Let us continue to prove that the articulate rider is a model of discipline and excellence," Otunba Sokoya added.

The chairman also used the occasion to call for greater integration of the motorcycle transport sector into modern transport planning, describing it as a vital small-scale enterprise and employer of labour deserving of protection and empowerment.

He extended Workers' Day greetings to all support staff, mechanics, spare parts dealers, and administrative secretaries who contribute to the union's ecosystem.

"May the labour of our hands never be in vain. May the Almighty protect every rider who goes out today and bring them safely back to their families. Together, we ride; together, we prosper," the message read.
