AMORAN Boss, Sokoya Celebrates Ogun Workers, Commends Governor Abiodun’s Transport Policies

The Ogun State Chapter of the Articulate Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN) has joined in celebrating Nigerian workers on the occasion of International Workers’ Day, recognizing their resilience and contributions to national development, particularly in the transport sector.

In a statement issued by the State Chairman, Otunba Taofeek Sokoya, AMORAN described May Day as “a moment to honour the dignity of labour and the unwavering efforts of those who keep the wheels of our economy moving, often under challenging conditions.”

Sokoya specifically applauded motorcycle riders, mechanics, and informal transport operators in Ogun State, noting their crucial role in sustaining mobility and economic activities across urban and rural communities.

“Despite the current situation of things, our members continue to demonstrate discipline, resilience, and an enduring hope for a better future,” he said.

The AMORAN chairman also praised Governor Dapo Abiodun for his “proactive and inclusive approach” to transport policies, citing the state government’s engagement with transport unions and initiatives to improve safety and economic opportunities in the sector.

“We are grateful to our performing governor for recognizing the strategic importance of the transport sector and consistently partnering with us to foster safety, job creation, and economic stability,” Sokoya stated.

He reaffirmed AMORAN’s commitment to responsible unionism and professionalism, pledging continued collaboration with the government to enhance the welfare of riders and commuters.

Concluding his message, Sokoya extended solidarity to all Nigerian workers, declaring, “Long live Nigerian workers, long live Ogun State, and long live AMORAN.”
