AMORAN Chairman Sokoya Commends Members for Hosting President Tinubu at Awujale’s Fidau Prayer

Abeokuta, Ogun State – The Chairman of the Articulate Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN), Otunba Taofeek Sokoya, has expressed gratitude to members of the union for their role in hosting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the 8th-day Fidau prayer for the late Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona.
The event, held on Sunday in Ijebu-Ode, saw dignitaries from across the country paying their last respects to the revered monarch. AMORAN members provided logistics and security support, ensuring smooth movement for guests, including President Tinubu and other government officials.
Speaking at the AMORAN House in Adatan, Abeokuta, Sokoya praised the union’s dedication and loyalty to Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, who was also present at the event.
"Our members demonstrated discipline and commitment during the Fidau prayer, contributing to the success of the event. We are proud to have played a role in hosting the President and other esteemed guests. This shows the importance of our union in national events," Sokoya said.
He also urged members to continue upholding the values of the union while supporting government policies aimed at ensuring security and order in the state.
In a related development, Sokoya inaugurated a 10-man task force to monitor and enforce compliance with the union’s rules and regulations. The move is aimed at curbing indiscipline among riders and ensuring adherence to traffic laws.
"This task force will work to ensure that all motorcycling members operate within the law. We will not tolerate recklessness or actions that tarnish the image of our union," Sokoya declared.

Some AMORAN members who spoke at the event commended the initiative, expressing optimism that it would improve safety and professionalism among commercial riders.

"This is a welcome development. Many riders ignore traffic rules, putting passengers and other road users at risk. With this task force, we hope to see positive changes," said Alhaji Musiliu Adekunle, a branch leader in Abeokuta.

Another member, Mrs. Folake Ogunbanjo, praised the chairman’s leadership, stating, "Otunba Sokoya has always prioritized our welfare and the growth of AMORAN. We are ready to support this new task force to ensure better discipline among riders."

The event ended with a call for unity among members and continued collaboration with government agencies to promote road safety and economic growth in Ogun State.
