MEET THE MAN CHARTING A NEW COURSE - HON. JENRIYI OSINOWO

Honorable Jenriyi Osinowo is a dynamic Nigerian entrepreneur, political strategist and public servant with a strong legacy of activism, leadership and community engagement. Born in Ojowo, Ijebu Igbo in Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun State, Hon. Osinowo’s life story is marked by resilience, intellectual rigor and a deep-seated commitment to public service.

He began his academic journey at Saint Matthew's Primary School, Ojowo, Ijebu Igbo, graduating in 1981, before progressing to Olokine High School. Following the passing of his grandfather, he moved to Abeokuta Grammar School and later completed his secondary education at the prestigious Command Secondary School, Kaduna.

Driven by a passion for economics and governance, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Lagos State University, Ojo. During his time at LASU, he emerged as a formidable voice in student leadership, serving as a member of the Student Parliamentary Council and later as the caretaker chairman of the Student Union Government. His activism during this period brought him into close alliances with many student leaders who have since risen to prominence across various political platforms in Nigeria.

Expanding his intellectual horizons, Hon. Osinowo proceeded to the University of Bridgeport in the United States, where he earned a Master’s degree in International Affairs. Graduating with a stellar GPA of 3.91, he ranked among the top 5% of students in the College of Public Affairs and was recognized with multiple honors, including induction into Pi Sigma Alpha and Pi Alpha Alpha, prestigious political science honor societies. His academic excellence was matched by his active participation in policy and political advocacy across the U.S., where he worked with numerous Democratic congressional leaders.

Professionally, Hon. Osinowo is an accomplished entrepreneur and real estate investor, with interests spanning both Nigeria and the diaspora. His passion for people and community development has made him a renowned philanthropist, known for empowering youth, supporting education and advocating for inclusive economic growth.

In 2019, he ventured into elective politics under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a House of Representatives candidate. Though considered the underdog, his unparalleled work ethic, grassroots mobilization and strategic political engagement earned him widespread recognition. According to a former gubernatorial aspirant within the ADC, “Hon. Osinowo energized the political base at the inception of the party in Ogun East like no other.”

While he was at University of Bridgeport, he was a research assistant to the dean of the faculty, Professor Dave Benjamin and also worked as an intern with Senator Murphy.  Hon. Osinowo is also a member of  the global world forum. During the 2023 elections, he was an aspirant for the Federal House of representatives in Ijebu North, Ijebu East/Ogun Waterside Federal constituency, under the ruling All Progressives' Congress (APC). 

Today, Honorable Jenriyi Osinowo continues to be a firm believer in participatory governance, youth inclusion in politics and grassroots-driven policy solutions. His journey is a testament to the power of education, activism and determination in shaping impactful leadership.
