As the calendar flips to August 2nd, 2025, the Articulate Motorcycle Owners & Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN) beams with pride and gratitude as it celebrates a remarkable leader and trailblazer; Otunba Taofeek Sokoya, the incumbent State Chairman, on the occasion of his birth anniversary.
Born for leadership and bred through the ranks, Otunba Sokoya’s story is a compelling testament to resilience, purpose and transformational leadership. From his early days as the Public Relations Officer of the union, he displayed rare clarity of vision, discipline and unflinching commitment to the cause of grassroots transporters. No doubt, these attributes have earned him the trust and confidence of members of the union across Ogun State.
Almost a year into his tenure as State Chairman, Otunba Sokoya has proven to be not just a leader, but a reformer. Under his stewardship, the union has witnessed a rebirth, marked by internal restructuring, improved welfare for members and a dignified public image for the union.
With deft administrative competence and a deep understanding of the riders' challenges, he has prioritized safety, accountability and professionalism across the board. Today, AMORAN is no longer seen as just another riders' association, but as a progressive force contributing to the socio-economic growth of Ogun State.
Otunba Sokoya’s rise through the ranks is a source of inspiration to many. Having experienced firsthand the day-to-day realities of members, his leadership is built on empathy and inclusiveness. He listens, he leads and most importantly, he delivers.
His time as the image maker of the union was not only foundational but pivotal. He established robust communication channels, enhanced member engagement and built a reputation as a bridge between the union and the public. Those experiences now serve as fuel for his visionary agenda.
Members of the State Executive Council, branch executives and indeed, the rank-and-file riders across the twenty local government areas of Ogun State have poured in glowing tributes, describing the Chairman as “a man of the people,” and “a servant-leader with integrity.”
Mr. Chairman, as you mark another year on earth, we, the members of AMORAN MEDIA TEAM, ably Coordinated by Mr. Azeez Onayiga, heartily celebrate a worthy Chairman and a reformer. We thank you, Otunba, for your tireless service, courageous leadership and enduring legacy.
